There is no doubt that this church hold much more history inside and outside its walls. there will be a lot to to tell about from the advent of CMS in 1850 to date, the ministry of the first Local Pastor Daud Singh,alongside Rev Robert Clark, Rev T Russel Wade* (*I Had a chance to visit his grand daughter) first great baptisam service in 1853 when giani Kesar Singh was baptised as Shamaun the first convert, the formation of the diocese of Amritsar a houndred years later in 1953. the church mission's work of providing health and education to the people of Punjab, Himachal and Kashmir, this church had been a great source of guidance to all those who dedicated themselves to the great cause of the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. The former moderator CNI Rt Rev Dr Anand Chandu Lal who worked very hard to reshape and rebuild the diocese of amritsar after his appointment as bishop of amritsar in 1981, also started his started his pastoral ministry in this church as a deacon in 1962-64 (curate under Ven'ble Stanley Haque then archdeacon of amritsar). Former bishop of Delhi Rt Rev Karam Masih was ordained in this church. Christ Church was officially named as Bait-ul Masih in 1862 (House of Christ). commonly known as CMS Church, or Native Church (among the english circles) but most people call it Ram Bagh Church, both Christians and non Christians

Christ Church Cathedral holds the history of the Church in Amritsar in perticular and the dioocese of amritsar in general, This church has been a very important church as the CMS had its punjab headquaters in the city, Most important event was the Baptisam of Maulvi Imad ud lahiz by the Rev Robert Clark on 26 april 1866. many notable christian leaders of the twentieth century preached here, the number of church members was continniously growing, church building was enlarged twice by the end of the ninteenth centuary, in april 1919 the church building completly destroyed by fire. present alter was a gift from Lord and Lady Hardinge the Viceroy of India to St Thomas Church in Simla which was brought to Amritsar. in 1948 alongh with the Good Shepherd window. Former bishop of Calcutta Rt Rev Joseph Amritanand started his ministry here, Former bishop of Delhi Rt Rev Maqbool Caleb was ordained priest in this church, Rt Rev Eric Samuel Nasir was enthroned bishop of Amritsar here in 1967, and the Rt Rev Sam Ghulam Qadir in 1971. The pressent bishop of Amritsar was installed in this cathedral in may 1999.
